Integrating Healthcare and Welfare Data for Early Detection of Child Maltreatment
Our research team member Amit presented recent research involving social and medical services data integration at the Hi AI University of Haifa conference.
Amit explained how the system was created through close collaboration with welfare professionals in the Jerusalem district, beginning with the definition of key outcomes based on the needs of the child, parents, and family. The process involved comprehensive data analysis and the development of an algorithm using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate statistical methods. The algorithm was then adapted for implementation in emergency room settings. The system integrates findings from both a universal screening questionnaire and the algorithm, and is currently being piloted in hospitals and community clinics in Jerusalem.
