Clinical Observation and the Nursing Role in Triage: Insights from the Jerusalem Hospital Child Protection Training

Our team member Bat-El Rehavi Bernstein, a Lead Nurse on the Child Protection Team, presented at a specialized training course for Child Protection Teams working in Jerusalem hospitals. The presentation focused on our pilot program, emphasizing the critical role of triage nurses in identifying suspicious signs of abuse and violence. Bat-El highlighted how streamlined communication between nurses, physicians, and social workers—facilitated by the pilot—ensures that at-risk cases do not “fall between the cracks” in the clinical setting.
