Dr. Ravit Alfandari, PhD

Dr. Ravit Alfandari is a researcher and social work practitioner specializing in child protection decision-making. She is a lecturer at the School of Social Work at the University of Haifa and brings extensive experience in direct social work practice, program development, and applied research related to vulnerable children and families.
Dr. Alfandari completed her PhD at the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and her postdoctoral training at both the School of Social Work and the School of Business Administration at the University of Haifa. Her research focuses on professional decision-making and risk assessment in child welfare systems, with a particular emphasis on improving outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration and data-informed practice.
She is the convenor of the European Social Work Research Association’s Special Interest Group on Decision Making, Assessment, and Risk (DARSIG), and serves on the editorial boards of European Social Work Research, Research on Social Work Practice, and the Journal of Loss and Trauma.
